Join the "United 4 New Trees of Life"  Program

Since October 7th, many have been seeking ways to make a meaningful impact..

.

Over the past year, we planted 12,000 fruit trees around the Gaza border, for the 1,200  victims symbolizing growth, resilience, and hope. Tragically, during this time, 600  of our bravest heroic IDF soldiers gave their lives defending Israel's survival. We cannot allow their sacrifice to be in vain.

.

Our response is:

They Murder 1,800  k'doshim, We will plant 18,000 Trees & Create NEW Life!

.

Starting this Tu B'Shvat, we will plant 18,000 new fruit trees on the Gaza and Northern borders and in between. They Gave Their Lives For Us! Together, we will plant 18,000 NEW trees to honor their memory and create NEW life! Schools, congregations, and communities worldwide are uniting to help plant them. These trees and their fruits will yield thousands of NEW mitzvot, whose merit will be le'ilui nishmat our holy heroes and the victims. Together, we will turn tragedy into growth, despair into hope, and loss into LIFE!

Support farmers and communities in need: Help save their farms while safeguarding the Holy Land!

Stand strong against terror: Show the world that we are here to stay, and will continue to GROW!!

Plant 18,000 new fruit trees: In memory of and leilui nishmat the 1,800 k'doshim, creating NEW LIFE!!!
Share in mitzvot: That can only be observed in Israel, and in its blessing! וְצִוִּיתִי אֶת-בִּרְכָתִי לָכֶם" - ויקרא"!!!!

Learning opportunity:  Teach about the geography and history of Israel with amazing videos of farmers!!!!!

Please watch the short video of the  "United 4 New Trees of Life" School Program. The program is endorsed by many schools prominent Rabbis and leaders.

Sample of a 5-foot cardboard tree poster which can be assembled and hung up in the hallway.

On top of the tree, place the letters of the pasuk: "כִּי הָאָדָם עֵץ הַשָּׂדֶה" or: "עֵ֣ת לָטַ֔עַת וְעֵ֖ת לַעֲקֹ֥ור"

As people plant trees, put up leaves with the name and number of trees planted on it. It's exciting for students to see a representation in the school hallway of your orchard growing in Israel!

Your students can learn about and fulfill mitzvot that can only be done with fruit trees in Israel, PLUS can learn about different locations in Israel with videos of Amazing farmers.

  • We plant FRUIT trees, not pine or spruce.
  • Emulate Hashem who planted a garden in Eden.
  • Planting fruit trees fulfills a Torah commandment (Vayikrah 19:23).
  • Our tree planting provides parnasah and commerce and is a true chesed.
  • Express your love in a way that "literally" bears fruit year after year.
  • Show students how they too can have a share in the mitzvot of fruit trees only possible in Israel like orlah, netta rivai, shemitta, terumot, maasrot...
  • Schools or Shuls can collectively plant orchards in honor, memory or for someone's well being.
  • We will place a sign in front of your Orchard with the name of your organization and the dedication name.
  • You will receive a plaque with a photo of the orchard and your sign.
  • When visiting in Israel visit 'your' orchard & witness what you helped create.

There's NO cost to the school and the program is simple to run. We provide everything you need, plus it can be run alongside other programs. This is the only way for Students to SHARE in the agricultural Mitzvot applicable in Israel.

Students Questions answered:

Question:

Shalom! We are participating in the program. But we have

been asked a valid question. What is the mekor for saying there is a
mitzvah to plant fruit trees (as opposed to other trees or other things
that help Yishuv haAretz)??

Torah Academy of Greater Philadelphia

Answer:

Excellent question!

Please see how Rav Melamed explains it. While it is certainly a mitzva to build and settle the land in many different ways, the Pasuk in Ki Tavo says:

וְכִּי תָבֹאוּ אֶל הָאָרֶץ וּנְטַעְתֶּם כָּל עֵץ מַאֲכָל

This is specifically referring to FRUIT trees.

All the mitzvot that come along with that can not be done with non fruit baring trees. Such as Orlah, Neta Revai, Truma Gedola Ketana, Maaser Rishon Sheni Ani, Shmita, Bikurim, Klaim, etc... Tu Bishvat is the New year for trees precisely to calculate all those hallachot associated with FRUIT trees.

Many people have a tradition to have a seder tasting the 7 species.
Those species are from the different fruit trees that are praised in the Torah.
אֶרֶץ חִטָּה וּשְׂעֹרָה, וְגֶפֶן וּתְאֵנָה וְרִמּוֹן; אֶרֶץ-זֵית שֶׁמֶן, וּדְבָשׁ

These are the types of trees that we plant, the ones referred to in the Torah.
All the mitzvot of trees are then possible with the Fruit trees
ב"ה

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Zo Artzeinu
